In our latest Talent in Cannabis profile, we sit down with Rachel Xin, a trailblazing entrepreneur who transitioned from real estate development to founding Juāna, a premium cannabis wellness brand focused on women’s holistic health.

Rachel Xin’s path to cannabis entrepreneurship is anything but traditional. A former real estate developer with 15 years of experience, she has now channeled her business acumen and passion for wellness into Juāna, a brand that goes far beyond just selling cannabis products.

… follow your dream, follow your gut, and work hard—not just work smart. I say work hard, not work smart, because I think sometimes people look for shortcuts, and sometimes you just need to get down and do the work.

Tell us about the origin of Juāna. What inspired you to start this brand?

The name Juāna actually comes from the Chinese word for flower, reflecting marijuana’s ancient roots in Chinese medicine. Our goal is to cultivate a community of cannabis-curious, wellness-seeking individuals—primarily women who are eco-conscious, spiritual, and authentically driven.

Your product line seems uniquely tailored to women’s needs. Can you elaborate on that?

We have six different product lines: rest, calm, focus, arouse, recover, and uplift. While our products are for all genders, we prioritize women’s needs. For instance, I use the recover line after marathon training, and the uplift line can be a great alternative to alcohol. We’re not just about potency but about truly understanding and addressing women’s wellness. Each product line is tailored to specific wellness goals:

Rest supports sleep.

Calm helps manage everyday stress.

Focus boosts productivity.

Arouse enhances evening relaxation and intimacy.

Recover aids physical recovery, like after a workout.

Uplift offers a mood-boosting alternative to alcohol.

We’ve designed our products with women’s needs in mind, but anyone can benefit from them.

You came from a background in real estate. How did those skills translate to cannabis entrepreneurship?

My background in finance, accounting, and project management has been a huge asset. From obtaining permits to navigating regulations, I’ve leveraged my prior experience to build Juāna. Real estate taught me the importance of process and persistence—skills that are essential in the cannabis industry.

What makes Juāna’s company culture unique?

Caring is our primary value. As a women-owned business, we understand the unique challenges women face. We proactively support our team, covering each other’s backs and providing flexibility. Being women ourselves—I’m a mom, a wife, and an entrepreneur—we deeply understand the need for support and understanding.

What’s next for Juāna?

We’re expanding! We’re looking at markets like New York, Arizona, Michigan, and New Mexico. We’re also developing a hemp line that will include textiles, home essentials, and a candle line using neurosense to boost mood. Our goal is to create a truly holistic experience that takes care of women mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs in the cannabis space?

I have one piece of advice that I always like: follow your dream, follow your gut, and work hard—not just work smart. I say work hard, not work smart, because I think sometimes people look for shortcuts, and sometimes you just need to get down and do the work.
